Il software del server di Exchange è responsabile per la gestione e l'instradamento di messaggi di posta elettronica dentro e fuori la rete. Il server di Exchange contiene tutte le cassette postali nella rete. Esistono diverse versioni di Exchange server a partire dalla sua prima release nell'aprile del 1996, che era l'Exchange server versione 4.0. Per individuare la versione della build di Exchange, accedere a Exchange Management Console (EMC). EMC è lo strumento di Exchange utilizzato per la creazione, gestione, eliminazione e configurazione delle cassette postali, proprietà di posta elettronica posta routing e altri.

Login per il server di Exchange.

Fare clic su "Start" e andare a "Tutti i programmi" poi vai a "Microsoft Exchange" e fare clic su "Exchange Management Console" per aprire la console.

Nell'albero della console nel riquadro sinistro della finestra, fare clic su "Configurazione Server".

Controllare il numero di versione di Exchange server sotto la colonna "Version". È solitamente il numero di versione del formato quindi un numero di build in parentesi. Ad esempio, un Server di Exchange 2007 Mostra "Versione 8.2 (Build 176,2)" nella colonna "Version".

Il numero di versione e il numero di build trovato nella "Versione" colonna di Exchange Management Console è combinato come punteggiate decimali. Nell'esempio precedente di Exchange Server 2007 con versione 8.2 e costruire 176,2, diventa 8.2.176.002, che significa che la versione è Exchange Server 2007 con Service Pack 2.
